8 months already, time flies!

Its hard to believe that my grandson will be 8 months tomorrow. It was only a few short months ago that he was born into this world and peep this he is standing alone already with no assistance. Hard to believe, Lord willing in 66 days we will be celebrating our first Christmas with him. I am so excited. I thank God for each second God blesses me to spend with him. I love him soooooooo much!

Izaiah's First Family Vacation

This July was 23rd Annual family vacation and this year we got to enjoy it with our grandson who was then 7 days shy of 6 months. We enjoyed 11 days of fun with him, daily walks and trips to the pool. Grub fests, games and Izaiah even rode a few rides with his Aunt Felicia, the pink elephants, the train, and the little bus. He even got to dip his feet in the ocean.

What a joy it was to have Izaiah dedicated in church today and publicly make a promise to the Lord to do everything within our power to raise him in a godly way, prayerfully until he can make a decision on his own to follow God. We made this vow of commitment and will raise him in the ways of God, and not according to our own ways. We will train him up in the way he should go as God's Holy Word instructs, demonstrating an example of godliness, disciplining according to God's ways, and praying earnestly for him.

My daughter's water broke around 4 am. We made it to the hospital 6 am. Daddy came up to the hospital shortly afterwards, pop pop arrived around 3:30 pm. After a long day of waiting, Izaiah Kyree Williams was born at 10:32 pm and weighed in at 7 pds 12 ozs. Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Pop-Pop were elated.

The Baby Shower

Me and Lisa, Izaiah's other grandmother put together a Baby Shower which took place January 10, 2009. God is so wonderful we had a grand time, a huge turnout, and we had so much fun. My daughter had a happy day and I thank God I was a part of it. Izaiah got a ton of stuff. It was a truly a blessed day! Thank you Lord for the great day we had. I took over 200 pix. Here are a few.

The joy of finding out I was going to be a grandmother

Amongst the many countless blessings my Lord and Savior has bestowed upon me, being able to say that I am a grandmother is a priceless thing. I found out on July 13, 2008. It took a minute for me to emotionally adjust to the fact that my life was about to take a change and that my oldest daughter herself was going to have the responsibility of motherhood. A new edition to our family was on the way, who would have thought, but that goes to show you that life has no true guaranteed plan of order, some things we must just accept, go with, and thank God for the positiveness in it all. I hoped one day that I would acquire the title of "grandmother", I just didnt quite no when this blessing would come upon me. Well I think its safe to say I know now, lol, and oh how blessed I am from day to day to spend time with him.

I began to assist my daughter in preparation almost immediately because its utterly amazing how time flies and 9 months isn't really all that long if you think about. I mean truly when a woman finds out she is expecting 4-6 weeks, sometimes more, has already passed cutting into the preparation time you have before your new bundle of joy arrives and thats if he/she doesnt make a premature arrival. I remember with my first child 24 years ago I didn't find out til I was12 weeks which left me with six months to prepare, seems like a lot of time but it really isnt financially when you have bills and other things to take care of and now you have to budget in an addition to your household. Anyway grandma, thats me, lol, started helping my daughter get ready the same day we got the news. My daughter chose the color scheme for the room. I bought the paint and his dad painted the room. After the painting was completed I had the room carpeted.

Next on the list was be the Baby Shower .
